Problem
A commercial espresso platform needed Tuya cloud connectivity, precise brew thermal control, OTA firmware updates and fleet telemetry — without compromising safety around high-power heater circuits.
Architecture
Tuya Wi-Fi module paired with application MCU, isolated driver stage for pumps and heaters, cloud bridge on AWS with REST + WebSocket telemetry, and mobile dashboards for brew analytics and maintenance scheduling.
PCB Stackup
4-layer FR4 with dedicated high-current pours, digital/analog split planes, RF keep-out for the Tuya module, creepage spacing on AC-adjacent nets and ENIG finish for production assembly.
Firmware
Tuya device SDK integration, PID brew temperature loops, recipe storage, descaling counters, secure OTA with rollback, and UART/I²C drivers for flow and temperature sensors.
Manufacturing
DFM-reviewed Gerber package, BOM with approved alternates, ICT-friendly test points, first-article brew calibration fixture and CM assembly documentation for SMT + through-hole power stages.
